ICD-10 Codes Coming in October, 2014

ICD-10On October 1, 2014, the ICD-9 code sets used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures will be replaced by ICD-10 code sets.  In preparation for this change, Eye Associates has been working with vendors and payers in preparation of the forthcoming change.   By getting an early start on the transition, it will afford us the ability to review current claims with conversion to ICD-10 codes and allow us to test the codes.  Training for key staff members in our clinics who will assist with training both staff and physicians is also underway.

All of the preparations and training sessions are spearheaded by Dana Golden, our Coding Compliance Supervisor, who last year completed the ICD-10-Cm Certified Trainer course through the American Institute of Healthcare Compliance.   We appreciate all of Dana’s hard work and expertise in preparing Eye Associates for the October conversion.
